Scott Cawthon created and distributed the video game popularly known as Five Nights at Freddy's 3. The game belongs to the survival horror genre.

As the name suggests, this title is the third installment from the series. According to the game's timeline, Five Nights at Freddy's 3 is thirty years after the events of the first game. This time, the setting is a horror theme park rather than the restaurants of the first two.

When playing, you'll assume the position of a guard tasked with protecting the attraction from Springtrap, a rusty animatronic that likes to wander around and cause trouble.

The game was first released on Steam in March 2015. Shortly after, it was published on Android and iOS in the same month. By 2019, the game was ported to other platforms such as Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.

The primary objective of the game is to make it through the night. While playing, there are no lights or doors. Instead, you'll rely on sealing some vents and audio to stay alive. You can also reboot systems that went offline in the game's maintenance panel.

Only one of the animatronics in the game can actually kill the player. However, there are six Phantoms that may spook the player and draw in the mechanical adversary.

Get Familiar with the Camera System Layout

When you access the cameras, you'll see a bunch of "CAM50"s and other cameras just like it. To check out what's within the camera, just click on it.

The cameras are your primary way of finding Springtrap. Once he is found, the audio can be played in an adjacent room. This is meant to distract him away from you. It is also crucial to inspect the vents. If you find him there with a vent camera, seal it. Double-clicking the vent's camera will seal it.

Utilize the Audio

You can use the audio to lure Springtrap to a specific room, which you can then check out using the camera system. The audio button is found at the bottom left when checking the camera layout.

The Maintenance Panel

It's typical for various systems in the maintenance panel to malfunction regularly. You must reboot malfunctioning systems as soon as possible. If you don't, you could be helpless or running blind in the game.

Generally, system errors will show up while checking the camera system. Different errors will have different negative effects.

You won't hear anything from the camera if there's an audio error. Of course, you can't see anything if there's a video error. A ventilation error will make the lights go out and turn on by themselves.

Locate Springtrap

The first thing to do after the sun goes down is to locate Springtrap. He has a weird fondness for the room where CAM10 is located. So, be sure to check in there often.

Once you find him, please do not take your camera off of him. He might make the video image blurry, giving him freedom of movement. If this happens, find him again as soon as possible. In fact, the only time that you stop checking the camera is when there's a video error, and you need to reboot the system. Also, during instances when a phantom appears.

The objective of the game is to survive the night. And, if you know where he is, then you know he's not there with you to kill you.

Don't Forget About the Vents

If you hear scurrying sounds coming from a vent, you can use the "Toggle Map" button to access the cameras installed in the vents. If he is in a vent, you can close it by clicking on it twice, forcing him to exit the vent and go in another direction.

Close Cameras with Phantoms

If you encounter a phantom, you should either end the camera feed or switch the camera's position on the map by using the "Map" button. If you fail to do this, a jump scare will trigger. And, this will be followed by an audio and ventilation error.
