DESCRIPTION

Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 is the last part of the Five Nights at Freddy’s tale. It’s a survival horror game, where you must defend your character, a child in their bedroom, from hostile animatronics.

Below are some key gameplay strategies and fun ways to play Five Nights at Freddy’s 4.

Unlike the other Five Nights at Freddy’s, the latest game doesn’t take place in a security office. Instead, it takes place in a child’s bedroom. All you have to defend yourself is a flashlight that has an unlimited battery.

Four hostile animatronics feature in Five Nights at Freddy’s 4. They largely resemble animatronics in earlier games. However, they have become more nightmarish and monstrous in their appearance.

The four animatronics to defeat at the beginning of the game are:

* Freddy Fazbear

* Bonnie

* Chica

* Foxy

These are later joined by other animatronics, which we will come onto later. You will also need to look out for mini animatronics known as Freddy’s.

As with the other games which make up the Five Nights at Freddy’s series, the main gameplay takes place over five nights. In line with previous games in the series, each night becomes more difficult than the last.

In the first four nights, the four main animatronics are the antagonists. On the fifth night, Nightmare Fredbear, a large yellow bear enters the game and becomes the sole attacker.

Extra Nights

Once you have successfully navigated the five nights as part of the main gameplay, extra levels are unlocked.

The sixth night features the four main animatronics, until 4am when Nightmare Fredbear takes over as the sole antagonist.

On completing the sixth night, you’ll unlock the seventh night. This again features the four main animatronics, with Nightmare Fredbear taking over at 4am. However, on the sixth night, the animatronics are very aggressive, which makes things much more difficult.

If you successfully complete the seventh night, an eighth night is unlocked. This night is based on the custom night’ mode used in the previous games. All animatronics are set to their maximum difficulty.

Extra Mini Game - Fun with Plushtrap

If you successfully survive the night, you can play a timed mini-game called Fun with Plushtrap. In this mini-game, Plushtrap, the central figure in Five Nights at Freddy’s 3 returns.

Your task is to lure Plushtrap to an X marked on the ground. If you succeed, you will be rewarded with a delayed start time for the night challenges.

Extra Mini Game - Fun with Balloon Boy

Nightmare Ballon Boy has similar functions to Plushtrap, which features in the other mini-game, and earlier Five Nights at Freddy’s game. Fun with Balloon Boy was added as part of a Halloween update. It is similar to the mini-game Fun with Plushtrap, but Balloon Boy moves at different speeds.

As the game becomes more difficult as the nights pass, you will find that you need different strategies for each night.

As a founding principle, there are four important positions you need to check. This is as important on night eight as it is on night one. They are:

* A set of doors on either side of the bedroom (2 locations);

* A closet in front of the player;

* A bed behind the player.

If the animatronics enter through these entrances, your character will be jumpscared, and the game will end.

Use Visual Cues

Because you do not have a monitor as used in the earlier Five Nights at Freddy’s games, you will need to rely on audio cues. You will be relying on these audio cues to work out where the animatronics are, so make sure that you have clear hearing.

Move Slowly

In the previous Five Nights at Freddy’s games, you could move frantically between defenses to keep animatronics at bay. Things are very different in Five Nights at Freddy’s 4, because making a move without waiting for the correct cue can end the game.

To help give you the greatest chance of success, we have provided some important information on strategies to get you through the first five nights of Five Nights at Freddy’s 4.

Night One - Strategy

The first night is fairly tame in nature and will allow you to settle into the game, and get a feel for the controls and display. However, don’t be fooled into thinking it will be a walk in the park.

You have two key things to survive night one.

* Flashlight the bed every so often. Small animatronics called Freddy's can form and attack the player is left alone. Don’t stare at the bed for too long, as you could be attacked from behind

* Keep the animatronics away from the doors on either side of the bed. Run to the doors and listen for audio cues. If you hear breathing hold the door until they walk away.

Night Two - Strategy

Night Two sees the introduction of the animatronic Nightmare Foxy, and the other animatronics begin to get more aggressive. Listening skills are key to success here. Follow the same strategy as night one, but bare in mind that the animatronics are more aggressive, and more noises are thrown into the mix.

Night Three - Strategy

The sequence of the game remains family similar on night three, but keeping with the theme, things get more difficult. On night three, it is important not to panic when playing, and take account of Nightmare Foxy's increased aggression.

Night Four - Strategy

Caution is needed on night four. You should focus on keeping Nightmare Foxy out of the bedroom for as long as possible. A good sequence to get into is to check for Nightmare Bonnie and Nightmare Chica at their doors, then check the bed, then check the closet once Nightmare Foxy has entered the bedroom.

Night Five - Strategy

The last of the standard levels is where things start to get difficult. Instead of four animatronics, your focus is on one, Nightmare Fredbear.

Visual cues are again important. Listen out for footsteps and laughter. Not only that they are there, but also what order they are in. If you hear footsteps and laughter at the same time, Nightmare Fredbear is in the room. If you hear laughter then footsteps Nightmare Fredbear hasn’t entered the room yet.

If Nightmare Fredbear has entered the room, you will need to check his hiding places as soon as possible. If you are holding the door shut to keep out Nightmare Fredbear, you will need to hold the door until you hear his footsteps.
